Boardgamist Begins

I’m sitting here staring at a stack of board games and a very full cup of coffee thinking about what it took to get to this point.

I just quit my job.

That sentence still feels wild to type. But it’s true. I left the security of a paycheck because I believe so strongly in what we are building here. I believe in board games. I believe in the power of gathering around a table, laughing, plotting, bluffing, rolling dice, building something together, and creating stories you still talk about weeks later.

I’ve started Boardgamist to make that magic easier and more accessible for more people.

This is more than a shop. It’s a place to discover games that actually get played, to find tips that make game nights smoother, to share recommendations, and to connect with a community that geeks out about the same stuff you do.

I want to grow this into something bigger than me. I want more people around more tables sharing more stories. I want the hobby to grow and become the thing we talk about on Monday mornings instead of the latest show we binged.

And yes — I want this to be my full-time job. That means I need to make this work so I can support my family while doing something I love. It’s exciting and a little terrifying, but I’m all in.

Why I Need You

This is the beginning of something that only works if we build it together. Here’s how you can be part of this:

  • Join the email list. That’s where I’ll share my best tips, reviews, and early access to new launches.

  • Talk back. Reply to emails, leave comments, tell me what you want to see, what games you love, what frustrates you about game nights.

  • Share it. Invite a friend to subscribe or send them a game recommendation from the site.

Just like a great social game, this only works if we're all in.

So here we go. We’re going to try new games, talk about old favorites, host nights that make people say “when’s the next one” before they’ve even left, and have some fun along the way.

If that sounds good, choose Boardgamist. Choose to be part of a community that is going to grow this hobby together.
