There’s something quietly magical about being surrounded by board games. The shapes, the artwork, the endless boxes each holding worlds waiting to be explored. When I walk into the Boardgamist space, I can feel the energy of it. It hums with creativity and curiosity and of things to come.

Over time, this room has become more than a workspace. It’s turned into my own living library, a stockroom that grows and changes with every delivery and every game I fall in love with. Each shelf tells a story of what I’ve discovered, what I believe in, and what I can’t wait to share with others.

Curating that space has been an education. I’ve learned which games truly stand out, which ones invite laughter, and which create those quiet moments of focus and calm. That process helps me decide what deserves a place in the Boardgamist collection. What do I recommend, and send out into the world.

But what I love most is that once those games leave these shelves, they begin a new chapter in someone else’s home. They become part of your library. Over time, you start to see what you enjoy too. Maybe it’s the co-operative adventures that bring friends together, or the numerous small-box gems that fill a quiet evening. The more you play, the more you learn what belongs in your own gaming room.

That’s the beauty of this hobby. It grows with you. Every box on your shelf holds a memory, a story, or a spark of inspiration for what to play next.

Right now, my desk is surrounded by towers of games on three sides, and it’s impossible not to feel inspired. Playing great games has always been the force that drives me, and it will always stay at the heart of Boardgamist.
