Shipwrights of the North Sea is the first game in the North Sea Trilogy. It can be played independently of its counterparts, Raiders of the North Sea and Explorers of the North Sea, also published by Garphill Games. However, the Trilogy can be combined through The North Sea Runesaga Expansion.
In Shipwrights of the North Sea players will earn points by constructing a range of ships and buildings. As Viking Shipwrights you are competing to build the greatest fleet on the North Sea.
Players must recruit other craftsmen to help, as the task cannot be undertaken alone. Commodities such as wool, oak and iron will need to be collected. Gold must be spent wisely. The townsfolk vary in character, from bad to even worse. You’d better hope they’re on your side!
