Daybreak
Daybreak
In Daybreak, you and your fellow players become world powers working together to steer humanity through the climate crisis. The goal is to curb carbon emissions and build resilient societies before global temperature rise spirals out of control.
Each round unfolds in a shared rhythm of global challenges and local decisions. You and your teammates choose a Global Project to coordinate climate action globally. Then each power deploys Local Projects to develop clean energy, bolster resilience, support communities, or prepare for disasters. Every decision counts: produce energy, meet rising demand, manage emissions, and protect vulnerable communities as crises such as droughts, wildfires and sea-level rise latch on to rising temperature bands. As crises strike, you must respond using a mixture of resources, teamwork, and foresight to avert disasters and limit damage.
The experience is cooperative, intense, and deeply thematic. Every decision impacts not only your region but the world. The simultaneous play and shared stakes keep everyone engaged. Over 60–120 minutes, tension builds as emissions climb, crises stack, and you race toward the “drawdown” condition. The design strikes a balance between accessibility and meaningful choices. With neat iconography, thematic art, and no plastic components, Daybreak delivers a clean, immersive, cooperative challenge.
