Emberheart
Step onto the island of Emberheart where dragons still cling to life under the shadow of looming poachers. As a Champion of the King, you lead parties of hirelings, heroes, and even your own dragon companion to outsmart raiders, rescue dragons, and earn glory by restoring balance and honour to the land.
Each round you face a choice: take an Aide token for a special bonus this turn, or send a group of followers into one of the island’s locations. The size of your party matters — a larger expedition lets you pick first among limited rewards, but also paints a target on your back. As you send Grunts, Scouts, Rangers, and Wardens out you may rescue captive dragons, recruit unique heroes, train your dragon companion, or prepare defences against impending raids.
Danger is never far behind. At the end of each round a Poacher Raid threatens to undo your progress. If your Flame track — a measure of how much danger you’ve accumulated — is too high, you risk significant penalties. Over five intense rounds, tension mounts as each decision forces you to weigh risk against reward.
Victory comes not through brute force but through clever planning, timing, and resource management. You win by earning the most Glory — a combination of your rescued dragons, recruited heroes, trained companion, and careful flame control. The result is a medium-weight strategic game full of meaningful choices and interaction.
With evocative artwork, a strong fantasy setting, and a blend of worker placement, bidding, and set-collection mechanics, Emberheart delivers a satisfying mix of competition and tension. When the final tally is done and the new Dragon Ambassador is revealed, you feel the weight of your victories and the hope that dragons may once again roam free.
