Space Lab
Space Lab puts players in charge of building and managing their own space station crew in a race to complete prestigious projects and score the most points. From the first turn the theme of ambitious space exploration is clear as players recruit specialists from major space agencies and add them to their station’s tableau.
On a turn players choose how to collect cards that represent potential recruits and mission tasks. Each turn offers the opportunity to take all cards of the same agency either from the top of the deck or from the recruitment centre. These agency cards carry different abilities and strengths that players must balance as they expand their station and capabilities. Once cards are collected players manage their hand and place Lab cards around their Capsules in a way that boosts their powers and aligns with their objectives for scoring. This mechanic creates an ongoing puzzle where careful placement and timing matter because it affects your scoring potential later in the game.
Space Lab supports one to four players and plays in about thirty minutes, making it suitable for family game nights and casual sessions with friends.
