Compress
Compress
An endless stream of 1s and 0s is flowing towards you, and remembering every digit simply isn't possible. In Compress, success comes from finding a smarter solution. Rather than relying on memory alone, you'll build your own logical system for recording information and reproducing the sequence when it matters most.
Each player begins with a hand of eight cards that act as a personal recording system. During the game, a binary sequence is gradually revealed before being hidden from view. Players must arrange and interpret their cards to capture as much information as possible, creating an efficient method for reconstructing the sequence later. The challenge lies in deciding how best to encode the information using the limited tools available, rewarding clever organisation over memorisation.
As the sequences become more demanding, players refine their own methods and discover increasingly efficient ways to record the incoming data. Every game becomes a fascinating puzzle where different approaches can lead to success, encouraging experimentation and creative thinking.
Designed by Jun Sasaki and Goro Sasaki, Compress transforms a seemingly impossible memory challenge into a game of deduction, logic and information management. Typical of Oink Games, it delivers an original concept in a compact box, offering a quick but remarkably thought-provoking experience that rewards clever ideas more than perfect recall.
