Wyrmspan invites players into a hidden world of dragons that live within caverns, peaks and valleys waiting to be discovered. You take the role of a dracologist building a sanctuary where these majestic creatures can thrive. Every turn you expand your network of caves, attract new dragons and manage the resources that keep your growing realm in balance.
The game evolves from the design foundation of Wingspan but introduces a new puzzle built around spatial cave construction. Cards represent dragons instead of birds, each with unique abilities, habitats and effects that interact with others in creative ways. To house them you must excavate new chambers and connect them to your sanctuary, forming chains that reward careful planning. Dice and resource tokens track stone, meat and gold while your board grows into a miniature cavern ecosystem.
Each dragon you play creates combinations that trigger across your caves. Some focus on hoarding treasure, others thrive on harmony or rivalry with their neighbours. The challenge is to build an efficient layout that generates points while adapting to the limited spaces available. The game rewards both tactical decisions in the moment and long-term planning as you decide which dragons to recruit and when.
Artwork from Clémentine Campardou fills the game with colour and life. Dragons are illustrated with personality and scale, giving each one a distinct presence on the table.
