The skies glow with colour as the Northern Lights dance overhead. Across the Nordic countries, railways stretch between busy cities, remote communities, and breathtaking landscapes. Your task is to build the most successful rail network while connecting destinations across one of the world's most beautiful regions.
Ticket to Ride: Northern Lights is a standalone entry in the acclaimed Ticket to Ride series. Players collect train cards, claim railway routes, and complete destination tickets by connecting cities across Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. Familiar mechanisms make it easy to learn, while the Nordic setting introduces a fresh map filled with new opportunities and challenges.
During the game, players gather coloured cards and spend matching sets to claim routes on the board. Longer routes provide more points, but completing destination tickets is often the key to victory. Each ticket challenges players to link specific locations, creating a constant puzzle of efficiency, timing, and route planning. As the board fills, competition for critical connections becomes increasingly intense.
Northern Lights also introduces regional bonus opportunities that encourage players to think carefully about how they expand their network. Choosing when to pursue destination tickets, secure valuable routes, or disrupt an opponent's plans creates meaningful decisions throughout the game. The elegant rules ensure that every turn remains approachable while still offering satisfying strategic depth.

This two to three player version of TTR really shines, for me it is the best in the series as it really gets a bit scheming with serious blocking of routes.
