One winning bundle and a growing community

There’s a lovely feeling when a pile of board games stops just being stock on my shelf as I pick each one, place it in a box and write a note ready to ship those games off to become someone’s next game night.

The launch event giveaway gave me a huge boost with such a positive response and involvement from all of you and I absolutely loved putting this amazing bundle of games in a box to send off.

After five days of community votes, the bundle found its way to our winner, Amy. And judging by the photo, Willow was keen to get involved too.

A bundle built by you

The idea was simple: put two games head-to-head each day, let the community choose, and bring the winning choices together into one five-game prize.

What made it special wasn’t just the games. It was having people take part in shaping something together. Whether you voted, entered or shared the event with a friend, thank you for being part of it.

Congratulations again, Amy! I hope the bundle brings plenty of brilliant evenings around the table.

More orders, and a very grateful shop owner

Alongside the giveaway, the number of orders coming through the site has been growing. For a small independent shop, that means a lot.

It’s still me behind Boardgamist: choosing the games, answering questions, making recommendations and packing your orders. Seeing more of you choose to shop here is both exciting and a reminder to keep earning that trust.

Every order is a chance to help someone discover a new favourite. And every recommendation to a friend helps this little shop find its next customer.

Why Boardgamist is different

I want Boardgamist to be somewhere you can discover a game you hadn’t heard of, ask a question without feeling daft, and find something that suits the people you actually play with.

The community growing around the shop is a big part of that. You don’t have to be an expert, own a wall of games or know every new release. If you enjoy bringing people together around a table, you belong here.

There’s still plenty for me to learn and improve. But between the giveaway, the growing number of orders and the people getting involved, it feels like we’re building something worth taking care of.
